I’m excited to share some important news: I am running to be your Calgary Board of Education Trustee for Wards 12 & 14. This decision comes from a deep passion to serve and a strong belief that leadership must be about listening, understanding, and acting in the best interests of students, families, and teachers, not about politics or titles.
For years, I have carried this dream, a dream rooted in service to the community and in the desire to make a real impact in education. My background as a PhD educator, postdoctoral researcher at the University of Calgary, and community volunteer has taught me how to connect with people from all walks of life and how to advocate for resources and policies that help every student succeed.
Together, we can build stronger, more inclusive schools where every child has the opportunity to excel.

Dr. Sabad-e Gul’s journey began as a passionate educator dedicated to empowering students from all backgrounds. With over 8 years of experience in schools and higher education, she has built a reputation for innovative teaching, research, and unwavering advocacy for equitable opportunities.
Holding a doctorate in Physics and Chemistry (interdisciplinary), Dr. Gul has worked closely with teachers, parents, and communities to understand the challenges facing our education system. Her hands-on approach, combined with a record of effective reform, has made her a trusted voice in education circles.
My campaign is driven by a clear mission: to transform education so every student can succeed. My vision is rooted in transparency, accountability, and the belief that real change comes from listening to those on the front lines of education.
